Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO)
The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a non-profit governmental organization (NGO) that was established in 2004 to promote the growth and use of sustainable oil palm products through credible global standards and engagement of stakeholders. There are currently 3080 members. Members selling RSPO palm oil products must comply with a set of environmental and social criteria to assure the palm they sell is from a sustainable source not harming the environment including those animals dependent on palm directly or indirectly (Shimizu and Desrouchers 2012).
